Review by hotel critic
The converted cave room provided a cool respite from the summer heat and featured a comfortable bed that ensured restful nights. I particularly enjoyed the unique shower experience reminiscent of the cave's raw beauty, complemented by excellent water pressure. The breakfast served in the vaulted stone hall reflected a commitment to quality, catering to individual dietary needs with ease. The staff, notably accommodating and multilingual, made exploring the area effortless by providing insightful recommendations for local attractions, including the nearby Museum of Contemporary Sculpture Matera. Conveniently located, I found myself immersed in the local culture, easily venturing into the historical sights of Matera. With a limited number of rooms, this guesthouse maintains an intimate atmosphere, fostering a sense of personal service. My experience was a compelling example of how heritage and modern comforts can coexist harmoniously, making it a worthwhile choice for any traveler seeking an authentic escape in this remarkable region.
